Who we areFieldBuilding

Youth Community Connections is an advocacy alliance of public and private organizations, funders, colleges and universities that offer and support youth development after school, summer and through year-round opportunities.

What we do

Youth Community Connections supports quality afterschool, summer and year-round opportunities because they connect children and youth to caring adults, engage young people in their own learning and support their contributions to their families, communities, state and world.

  • Build Voice – promoting the value of afterschool, summer and year-round opportunities and the beneficial role these experiences have in the development of young people.

  • Inform & Support – building relationships that connect practitioners, providers, organizations, communities and systems to engage them in their own learning about the field and support their ability to contribute to the improvement of the field of afterschool.

  • Convene – pulling together public and private stakeholders to allow for unfettered development of policy and to better coordinate and leverage existing resources that support afterschool, summer and year-round opportunities.

    2008 Annual Progress Report

Youth Community Connections is funded by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, The McKnight Foundation, the Minnesota Department of Education, and the Greater Twin Cities United Way.
