The Minnesota Commission on Out of School Time

The University of Minnesota convened the nonpartisan Commission on Out-of-School-Time. The commission was made up of leading citizens and experts on youth development, and in late 2005, it issued recommendations in a report called "Journeys into Community."

The report's overall conclusion was that Minnesota needs to be much more intentional about engaging its young people in developmental activities. The commission's report and briefing papers offer many insights into how Minnesota's commitment to youth has weakened, putting the futures of our young people and our communities in jeopardy.
